Lafiya Watson Ramirez - CEO, Bad Chick Studios - AR Minute from AWE '21

Lafiya Watson Ramirez.

The AR Minute with Nathan C is back for season 2 of no-fluff, no-jargon interviews that demystify the worlds of AR, VR, XR and whatever else we’re calling metaverse technology these days.
,
The AR Minute brings you into the conversation with the people building the metaverse—discussing the real work and challenges of innovative technologies, rather than focusing on the technical specs and future hype.

[00:00:00] Hi, I'm Nathan and this is the AR Minute. Today I'm talking with Lafiya Watson Ramirez of Bad Chick Studios Hey Lafiya, thanks for joining me Can you tell us a little bit about Bad Chick Studios and your work there? Sure! Bad Chick Studios is just me

[00:00:24] And I my background is in photography and web design and development But these days I've been really getting into AR development So I am an official Snapchat creator And I'm doing some amazing things with that. Tell me a little bit about how you help people

[00:00:38] Understand and get value out of XR tools I come from a storytelling background So I think a lot of that is I try to create projects that people can connect to a lot of my past projects are about finding finding yourself and

[00:00:54] Accepting change and so I just try to create things that even though AR might be a new platform There are some things that you can connect to in the content How do you like consider that user?

[00:01:07] The person who's using your technology and how do you meet their needs and bring them into those stories? I think a lot of it is testing, you know I'm also a user myself, you know, and I play a lot of games and things

[00:01:19] So I try to test a lot with other people and see where they get hung up and things like that And just try to recognize as much as possible

[00:01:26] So what's some advice that you would give to people or brands or anybody who's looking to get started using XR tools? There's so many, you know, wonderful YouTube free content out there and tutorials and I personally love Lin Studio

[00:01:40] I just find it's a really easy platform to get started and they have a lot of good templates and things like that Just start experimenting This has been the AR minute from AWE with Lafiyah Watson Ramirez of Bad Chick Studios. Thank you so much
